I don't stick with steam because of ideals - its a lot easier to be able to sign in to a single account and download any game you own and know that it's bang up to date. Having said that, I think Steam has done a heck of a lot to open up the PC Gaming market to indie developers, and that's no bad thing.
I wouldn't dispute that at all, but those are beside the point. Doing some things that are good do not negate the bad things that have come about from specific companies within the gaming industry.
I love this one, the best from Valves SSA:
"You may not reveal, share or otherwise allow others to use your password or Account."By allowing my other half to play games on my account (or the other way around), we are in violation of the SSA that grants me the
"privilege" of being able to play video games and thus, could have all the games we've paid for, taken away. All done with the full backing of the law.
Now, Steam does provide a great service, yep but that doesn't mean that other practices (or other companies practices for that matter also) should be allowed/accepted.
Woot that the C3 Engine is now free to non commercial stuff!
Sorry all for hijacking the thread. I'll shut up now. lol
