Big Homeworld 2 fan, here.  I loved how easy it was to develop tactics in truly three-dimensional space.  This looks...pretty cool.  Far more refined than the Star Wars Warlords mod.

I'm not surprised. I don't remember any finished Trek mods for Homeworld games.

Incorrect. Star Trek: Continuum appears alive and well, with the latest update being posted 4 days ago, regarding a ToDo-list for the mod.

No, ST Homeworld 2 is dead. The team left the mod leader and took their assets with them to ST Continuum.

Why so negative about this LastHallow? Would have thought a hardcore trek gamer like you would be glad to see another great trek project in the works! :D

I believe he's referring to the following description:

"This is the trailer for the now defunct v0.6 of the Star Trek: Homeworld 2 mod."

Although, the video itself is called "Where this mod has come from", so I would think it's fairly obvious that the description and video is showing viewers where the origins of the mod come from, and not the mod in it's current state. As it says on the frontpage of the modpage, is that this mod is very much alive and well (Continuum).

so wait im confused. is this the original star trek homeworld 2 mod or is it something different? or is it the original mod just re named?

The video (in the OP's link) shows the origins of the Star Trek: Continuum mod. The origins being, the now defunct "Star Trek Homeworld 2" mod. The two are entirely separated. Several of the developers of the "Star Trek Homeworld 2" mod left that team, to work on "Star Trek: Continuum".

Continuum on the other hand, has support by several modders from the now defunct "TrekMods" team, primarily consisting of support by Major Stress (aka The Stress Puppy). Thus, alot of the artwork in Star Trek: Continuum, are the same models that were used in the older Favor the Bold/Sacrifice of Angels mods by the TrekMods team.

Hope this clears up some of your confusion over the matter.

Continuum has a strong mod team, and my full support. Once the chaos in my life goes away i will help them as much as i can with some modeling, and textures. The mod team has full access to all of my prior works plus SoA 2 stuff. Real Life is preventing me from taking a more active role in ANY project right now (especially Excaliber). Other than doing the absolute simplest of tasks (texture tweaks, and minor mesh fixes).

HerbyGuitar (aka Charvell from Trekmods) is the primary artist for continuum right now. Plus a few more from the Late Trekmods team have posted to show their support. Charvell IMO is a much better low poly modeler than i am, and his Klingons kick ass. So this project definitely has a bright future as long as the team stays interested.
