Fanmade Trek Ships
« on: September 01, 2010, 11:29:54 PM »
Hello all

I'm starting this thread for anyone who'd like to show off there own designs of Trek ships, and hopefully we might be able to pull all our ideas together to come up with some great fanmade designs. If i can grasp modeling aswell i might build some  :P

Don't mind how its done as long as there is some good input and plenty of designs.

I'll start off with this one....

Kaww blimey thats nice, I can see a lethal first volley from that :)

do you have a side view?

And yeah it took a while but i have completed the side view. I'm not happy with some bits, and i still have to do the front back and bottom view. And i've changed bits form the first.

i'll decide the name when i'm done

EDIT: I'm not sure to have the nacelles above or below the saucer ( last image )

@MR_7: Could we have a pic, if it's not to much trouble, with the ships nacelles parallel to the secondary hull, if I could be really cheeky  :D

Above, but if you go below I think they should be just barely below the saucer rather than way down.

ahhh ST Armada memories. I've been wondering if someone would make an updated version :) Although why is the registry modelled in? nice one

The nacelles are parrellel to the secondary hull  :? , do you mean level with the secondary hull.

Above, but if you go below I think they should be just barely below the saucer rather than way down.

yeah i did that straight after i posted it lol, only by abit. I've put it on this attachment

Right this one is full of variants and possible continuing points. And just so you know these are just very basic layouts. After i have composed all views i'll start adding details ...a texturing of sort.

Forgive my use of colour...i love colour :P

I like B and D. I don't think Voyager style nacelle placement will look balanced.

...and another one. This was never released publicly. The Cousteau is a ship that was spread around the cream of Trek modders as a "thank you" and to learn from:

I like it MR_7, the only thing is people I think would see it as to similar to the intrepid class, so I go with the top-bottom nacelle variant. Or the two nacelle above saucer variant.

I love that klingon concept ship :)

well i'm gonna throw together all of them and see from there. Heres the first Front view. I used the above nacelle variant as it looks better than the below :P
