Well washing machines seem to mysteriously have vanished in Trek (unless you consider the easter egg from EF2, but that was a pun on the real worlds Paramount Studios...), and I believe either Riker or Geordie once said they just put the laundry intot he replicator who dissipates it and replicates a new set of whatever (which also seems more logical and easy), but I get the point.

Yet. Why would you carry around your stuff and think about running? It's not like you carry the concrete-bag around in a battle to use it as a mace on some foes..

Seconded, the game needs a concrete bag weapon. In fact, anything that can be held should be usable as a weapon.

Using the replicator as a laundry machine makes sense, it should be precise enough to remove filth without having to rebuild clothing from scratch, so it could be efficient. But, I remember the carpets being mentioned as self cleaning. So, why isn't clothing self cleaning?

Where was it mentioned? i seem to have missed that. In any case it could be some sort of automated system that has like a ceiling mounted phaser (very low power) that vaporizes small particles of dirt or whatever that are on the carpet, or there could be cleaning robots (even though we've never seen them)

Also, excellent work on the props. Keep up the good work ;)

Probably already is. They're researching clothing materials in the present day that repel dirt.

In the episode "Up the Long Ladder" Riker says, "The ship can clean itself." It's never specified how, though.

I remembered distinctly as self cleaning carpets, but that's much better. It leaves room for all sorts of self cleaning methods.
