Ditto on releasing tutorials, I'm pretty much stuck on trying to get that star destroyer to look right, it still looks like some bad cheesy ghost ship at full power, and every time I try to add an alpha channel it comes back as a corrupted texture, so if you can post the tutorial, I might be able to figure out what I did wrong. If I can't find it, then I'll ask for help in converting it.

Also, and I know I'm getting a little off topic here, wasn't furswift working on some star destroyers of his own some time ago, they looked pretty close to completion but I can't seem to find a download anywhere and he hasn't updated in quite a while. Does anyone know if he got around to releasing them or if he just flat out disappeared with those ships. I'm just asking because if his were released, I'd rather beat up on good looking ships than the lower poly stuff that I can find.

What is amusing is my failing attempt at importing Homeworld 2 ships. I wish the texture resolutions were just a "little" higher. The higgy assault frigate only has 512x256 res textures :/ Anyway heres my contribution to the screenshot thread. Maybe ill post some of my old models later.

Probably a newb question, and Probably not even the right thread to post in, but here goes anyways... LOL

I havent touch BC in about 3 years and have NO IDEA how to mod it to look something like what i see on the firstfew posts of this thread.

If anyone has a comprehensive how to and/or a nice big pack of mod files i can plug an play with, that'd be great :-P

Thanks everyone!

Well its not BC, that's the problem. All these shots were taken from the NanoFX Viewer. If you scour this thread you should be able to find some links to all the appropriate material. :)

EDIT: These aren't even the up to date textures which makes me think "eww", when i look at it.

4 - In Star trek ships were artifically lit to make the ships visible (no point in a space show where you cannot see the ships), so, we take this freedom to make things look canon.
1,2,3 - Really don't want understand what you mean? If your nitpicking the guys pic, that is a bit rude... as he stated he barely has time to anything, yet, he posted a pic just to answer your request.

Agreed, the goal of the lighting engine is to mimick the Show, not real space.  However it doesn't mean that we won't have a settings in the game to adjust lighting levels.  FYI, MR_7 doesn't have the hardware to do AA and everyone is lucky he does so much for this community!  I realize you are probably just trying to make simple requests, but really if you want better screenshots, you are more than welcome to take your own and post them here :) other than that, just enjoy what is given!

5. PLEASE use proper English language in your text (if you are not a native speaker, atleast make the effort)
6. As Luiz said, it's a bit rude to nitpick an image to death, whilst simultaneously having made a request for said image.

Lastly: Picture the episode of Voyager titled 'Night'. Voyager traveling through the dark "void" in space, with no stars to illuminate the ship. Now picture those same scenes, if applied to the ENTIRETY of Star Trek. Would make the shows/movies incredibly dull. We might consider space to be "very very dark" and black, but considering the amount of light being emitted by the millions upon millions of stars in our galaxy alone, there's alot more light in space, than most people give credit for.

I LIKE the realistic lighting! Not just the artificially lit sort used for cinematography. It allows the glows to really shine. I think the final game should have a simple graphics button toggle to switch between the two lighting modes; as I'd never want to have to give up the realistic completely just so it looks like the show. Look at Mr7's gorgeous pic and then at something from Bridge Commander and you'll know where I'm coming from.

He said "Combine with the Constitution for good images." For those who don't speak Bulgarian. :P

And uh.... His sig has some... Shall we say, nasty stuff.... I used google Translate, and it is not pretty. Mods, please ask him to change it, and check it just to be sure. Someone who does speak that language might be.... upset...
