Episode 66 of Hailing Frequency, which was recorded to a live audience on Saturday July 11th, has been released today and features, among other things, a 20 minute interview with Excalibur's Lead Artist, Mark Ward.

During the interview, Mark talks about many of the recent updates that Excalibur has gone through, along with what can be expected over the next few weeks and months and there is also an interesting discussion on Newtonian Physics and what this means, in basic terms, to the gameplay and play-ability of Excalibur.

Other areas of the podcast focus on general Star Trek Gaming News, as well as a discussion about the closure of StarTrek-Games.com - and all in all, its a very good podcast that is well worth a download and listen!

Mark did a great job with that interview and Zach asked some great questions.  I laffed when Zach asked "When are we going to see ships shooting".

I was glad to hear more on the Newtonian physics in Excalibur.  It's about time a ST game realistically portrayed how things work/move/interact in space.  I was particularly interested to hear what Mark had to say about nebulas.  It would appear that (in reference to this thread: http://www.stexcalibur.com/forum/index.php/topic,4524.0.html) nebulas will indeed consist of a bunch of finite-mass particles and that nebulas will be of variable density (which is freakin awesome).  I'm really looking froward to the upcoming ship and interior updates that were also mentioned.

The podcast was worth the download for the Excalibur info alone, well done guys!  :D
