Progress
« on: March 11, 2009, 09:32:22 AM »
Could you post the progress here? I know you don't like us asking, so it would be nice if one of the members could take the initiative and just post it. That way, you wouldn't get questions.

This wouldn't have to be anything specific, maybe just something like, we have completed the sovereign class completely and it is now fully functional in the game. A few pictures would be nice, but understandable if they were left out.

I know that i like to know that a project is progressing forward. I have followed too many projects that were promised to be done, then never were, and just fell flat on their face. Obviously, with the recruitment forum and all, this is not the case, but it would still be nice if you could post something say, once a month, on some of the things you have accomplished.

One thing that is nothing to do with this, but i can't make a new topic in the questions section. Is that something that you have to enable or is it a bug with the system. All i can do in the questions section is mark forums as read and notify of foul language/content.

I think Shinzon said it best, but let me add that we arent "promising" anything. There are no certainties when people are working for free in their own time, we can only do our best to achieve something that very few have.

If you wish to be kept up to date on our progress then you need to keep an eye on our main website; we have 32 project updates planned over the next 14 weeks so you will definately be seeing more than some of the things we have accomplished.

I would also ask that the community remain mindful that we are building a game from scratch. Producing a computer game (even for a veteran software house) is full of complexities and challenges, a large majority of which do not lend themselves to publication or 'updates'.

So even if it looks like we are doing nothing, updates slow down or dry up completely - chances are we are working hard behind the scenes, making things more awesome.

Yeah, better to let the developers do the developing instead of being stuck here answering questions.
